Megan Wood is a multidisciplinary artist living in Joshua Tree, California.

Her work with textiles, earth, seeds, and other objects found in nature confronts the uncomfortable parts of femininity in familial relationships, and asks how these things can be viewed through our relationship to nature. Her work often deals with what is seen versus unseen, things lying under the surface (literally), emulating skin folds and referencing anatomy. Her work is inspired by the stark beauty and objectivity of her desert surroundings.

Megan Wood grew up outside of Dallas, Texas. She received a BFA in Sculpture from the University of Texas at Arlington before leaving the South to hike the Pacific Crest Trail, and then travel the West full time. Her photo work, in particular her Cedar & Pines wedding photography project, has received much critical acclaim, landing features in Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, and many other publications worldwide.

She now lives in works in Joshua Tree, California in a desert home with her 95lb doberman named Theo.
